{"id":1145,"date":"2015-11-26T13:17:51","date_gmt":"2015-11-26T13:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aviuk.org\/?p=1145"},"modified":"2021-03-14T21:42:52","modified_gmt":"2021-03-14T21:42:52","slug":"landing-auroville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviuk.org\/news\/landing-auroville\/","title":{"rendered":"Landing Auroville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Created by Rakhal and the Auro-Image team, in cooperation with Auroville\u2019s land fundraisers, this 8-minute film is a stirring call for completing Auroville\u2019s body \u2013 its land.<br \/>\nOver shots of the barren land that once was, <strong>Landing Auroville<\/strong> begins by asking<br \/>\n<strong><em>\u201cWho could imagine a poorer and more desolate land to create \u2018the City the Earth Needs\u2019?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The film then traces the work of the \u201cgood-willed foreunners\u201d who responded to the Mother\u2019s call. Fifty years later and the land transformed, this lush green space now hosts a growing city, the creative mix of nationalities and cultures, greater prosperity for villages, a \u00a0magnetic \u201cfresh wind of progress\u201d, the inspiring example of new generations \u201cdetermined to carry the experiment forward\u201d \u2013 \u00a0with the Matrimandir at its heart and center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Landing Auroville<\/strong> is a hommage to the work, optimism, and success of Auroville so far.<br \/>\nAnd it holds a warning for the future! Urban spillover, speculation, and encroachment are serious ever-present threats to the City of Dawn\u2019s body.
